Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, President Nicolas Sarkozy of France and other leaders had returned to their respective capitals following the meeting in Brussels on Sunday, while high-level aides remained to work on issues like debt relief for Greece and measures to strengthen European banks. 

One of the most concrete results of the weekend talks was a plan to compel banks to bolster their emergency reserves, but divisions remain over how to increase the firepower of the euro area’s bailout fund.

NOTE:   If this had been happening two years ago -  MILLIONS of PEOPLE would still be in there homes.  MILLIONS of dollars of TAX revenue used to fix up decimated neighborhoods would have been saved, jobs loss minimized, families kept together and neighborhoods would not have abandoned houses.  Several BANK CEO'S would be in jail along with coherts that did robo-signing and other acts of fraud upon the body politic!

This is a direct transfer of risk to the taxpayer done by the bank without approval by regulators and without public input.  You will also read below that JP Morgan is apparently doing the same thing with $79 trillion of notional derivatives guaranteed by the FDIC and Federal Reserve.

What this means for you is that when Europe finally implodes and banks fail, U.S. taxpayers will hold the bag for trillions in CDS insurance contracts sold by Bank of America and JP Morgan.  Even worse, the total exposure is unknown because Wall Street successfully lobbied during Dodd-Frank passage so that no central exchange would exist keeping track of net derivative exposure.

AFter reading the story, I was so IRATE that I wrote the following response:

Romney ! Romney, if you are reading.... .CHANGE YOUR IDIOTIC STANCE... ARe you KIDDING me, are you in a cave?????   Have you not heard of the fraud of toxic loans (targeting), the fraud of the banks in making the loans, the fraud in the foreclosure process, fraud to the homeowner, fraud to the investors, fraud to the states (no recording fees and false documents filed).  This amounts to harm to the body politic! If you know law (and you must as a leader) then you know this CANNOT result in having clear titles - that rewarding fraud is WRONG WRONG WRONG for people adn for corporations.  YOU MUST NOT FALL into this wrong thinking - Obama did not hold up foreclosures - the BANKS did because of the legal actions of 50 brave Attorney Generals who received settlements for everyone but the victims of the fraud.   With so many MILLIONS of people evicted from homes (resulting in split families, abandoned pets and JOB LOSS) many are going to read your words and ditch you as candidate.  Republicans should be on the forefront of this issue if they really believe family values and believer in returning government to the people. This attitude is CRIMINAL - it is cover-up to the CRIMES of the bank - oh well they are committing treason upon America - but who cares? CAn someone forward this to him... :) - YOU WANT YOUR NUMBERS TO GO UP - ADDRESS The FRAUD in a way no politician is willing to.... give the home back to the people and make the banks do the right legal thing - 3x the amount of damages for each fraudulent act.

As many as a dozen "Occupy Wall Street" protestors and their allies were arrested Thursday afternoon as they tried to stop a foreclosure auction inside a courthouse in Brooklyn, N.Y.

As the auctioneer called the proceeding to order, the protestors, who had been sitting quietly in the courtroom, broke into song. “Mrs. Auctioneer, all the people here are asking you to hold all the sales right now,” they sang, in surprising harmony. “We’re hoping to survive, but we don’t know how.”

Their voices filled the courtroom and, for a while at least, brought the proceedings to a half. After a few minutes, a court security officer warned them to stop or face arrest, but he could barely be heard over the singing. The singing continued for about a half an hour until they were led off in plastic handcuffs, still singing.

The disruption coincided with a larger protest outside the state Supreme Court building in downtown Brooklyn, across the East River from Wall Street.

“We all know there are hundreds of thousands of people who have lost their homes through nothing but outright theft,” housing activist Frank Morales told a crowd of more than 100 outside the courthouse.

The courtroom action was planned in secret by protestors linked to Occupy Wall Street and another group, "Organizing for Occupation," which had previously formed an “eviction blockade” at the home of an 82-year-old grandmother in the Bed-Stuy section of Brooklyn. So far, the group has been able to prevent the woman's eviction, but the outcome of Thursday’s sing-in in the courtroom was less certain.

Great Interview George Stephanopoulos and President Obama: Underdog 2012

Great interview by George, asking President Obama questions about his campaign.  Given the answers we have to say that President Obama is still generalizing, recognizing that it is hard to be specific in a short interview.   President Obama embraces being the UNDERDOG in 2012 presidential election.  Of course Americans love rooting on the Underdog in most competitions. 

I am relieved that  Obama understands the Bank of America debit card charges issue, and realizes that we are not better off than four years ago. I just wish he understood the economy and foreclosures better.  Foreclosures are perhaps one of the most important issues in America right now. You are witnessing this foreclosure issue compel fraud, erode civil rights and impact society in a way that has never been tolerated before.

President Obama made the statement that he wants to make things better for the normal average family (not exact quote).    IF SO HE"D BETTER GET A HANDLE ON FORECLOSURES and how it worked with FRAUD, TOXIC LOANS and abuses of contracts by the BANKERS not the homewoners.  How the foreclosure issues have impacted communities, families, pet and yes even healthcare.

Quite simply it seems foreclosures is not in Obama's vocabulary.
Check out the interview it is is interesting and he does own up that things are not better now than they were four years ago.
