What 6 Phoenix-area writers learned at ASU's Desert Nights conference | Examiner.com: "This year, more than 250 aspiring and published writers attended the Desert Nights, Rising Stars Writers Conference held at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz., Feb. 22-24. Presented by the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing, the conference included such speakers as Betty Webb, author of the Lena Jones mystery series and the Gunn Zoo mystery series; and Stella Pope Duarte, author of "If I Die in Juarez," "Let Their Spirits Dance," "Writing Through Revelations, Visions and Dreams" and more. Agents, editors and publishers were also on hand to discuss the business of writing."
