Landmark NY hotel going back to auction block - WSJ.com

IDEA: NOw here is an idea - get all the evicted people together and have them purchase the home or make the city buy it and turn it into shelter for the evicted. :)

Landmark NY hotel going back to auction block - WSJ.com: "NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A landmark hotel in downtown Niagara Falls, N.Y., is headed back to the auction block.

The State Bank of Texas tried to sell the 12-story, 193-room Hotel Niagara for $1 million during a foreclosure auction in early January. Several potential buyers showed up, but none was willing to meet the bank's $1 million minimum bid.

A broker for the real estate firm handling the next auction tells the Niagara Gazette that the property will be put up for sale on April 26, with bids starting at $145,000."
