Protect the children: get rid of guns! Are you really that stupid, asks ranter?

We have a friend that stands  for truth and fights scumbags in real life. The friend does tend to do what he calls ranting, but we listen to the rants because the tirades have truth. Getting fed up with a little of the hypocrisy seen by people who are always wanting changes  "for the children", he shared a rant that we found really hit the nail on the head.


 So with permission -- the shortened version:

You hate guns, but you claim everything is “for the children.” Well you are as stupid as you are lazy, and here is the proof: 

We use guns to protect our money in banks.
We use guns to protect our courts.
We use guns to protect our vital records.                            
We use guns to protect our museums.
We use guns to protect our art galleries.
We use guns to protect our sperm banks.
We use guns to protect our hospitals.
We use guns to protect our used car lots.
We use guns to protect our garbage dumps.
We use guns to protect our parks from the homeless sleeping in them.
We use guns to protect our lakes from people boating overnight.
We use guns to protect our forests from people having campfires.
We use guns to protect our backyards from having campfires.
We use guns to protect our politicians.
We use guns to protect our harbors.
We use guns to protect our borders.
We use guns to protect our jewelry in jewelry stores.
We use guns to protect our property in pawn shops.
We use guns to protect our prisoners in jails and prisons.
We use guns to protect our power in nuclear reactors and generating stations.
We use guns to protect our bridges.

The list of what we use guns to protect is damn near endless.

The list of what we cannot use to protect with guns is very short  

We CANNOT use guns to protect our schools.
We CANNOT use guns to protect our homes.
We CANNOT use guns to protect our lives.
We CANNOT use guns to protect our families.
We CANNOT use guns to protect our property.
