NEW YORK: State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo Sources tell The Post that the AG is demanding that the biggest mortgage lenders Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo and GMAC Ally Financial halt foreclosures in the state effective immediately.
BANK of AMERICA & GMAC have frozen or halted foreclosures in all 50 states.

BANKS: BAC , GMAC , PNCfinancial and M&I have all announded 50 state freeze. (PNL is for 30 days) CHASE is reviewing documents in all 50 states.
history: The main states affected initially were 23 non judicial states. In September GMAC announced halt then retracted the freeze on foreclosures. Followed by CHASE with 56,000 reviews to do, and then BAC. M&I has extended foreclosure moratorium through the holidays. Wells Fargo refuses to halt foreclosure despite deposition by employee that questions legality of documentation. GMAC and BAC are nationwide
STATES State with partial foreclosure freeze California, Connecticut (all foreclosures frozen) , Colorado Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota North Carolina and Texas Most notably Connecticut which correctly surmised that if several banks have robo-signers then all need investigation, before robbing people of their homes and stopped foreclosures for 60 days. North Carolina is investigating 15 lenders as is Minnesota. Massachusetts has set up investigation to explore changing to judicial state. Ohio and Idaho are conducting investigations you will need to check for foreclosure freeze by contacting your states attorney general.
